The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) is a Non-Government organisation, which was officially formed in February 2006.
GREENSTAR NEWZEALAND was developed by the NZGBC in partnership with the building industry. Greenstar is an environmental rating scheme that evaluates the environmental attributes and performance of New Zealand's buildings.
Green Star New Zealand has four rating tools. They are as follows:
- Office 2009 which applies to new build as well as refurbishment work (this tool replaces Office VI)
- Education 2009 which applies to new build only
- Industrial which applies to new build only
- Office Interiors 2009 which applies to new build only
